Oberrot/Stuttgart, September 15, 2021 – Happiness among the residents of the Rottaler nursing home in Oberrot: The facility’s new building, which is located directly opposite the existing structure, celebrated its topping-out ceremony on September 15th. The new building is scheduled for completion in fall 2022. After the move, the home will offer inpatient care places in modern single rooms for all residents living there. Welcoming guests to the topping-out ceremony were facility manager Bernd Schulz, city mayor Daniel Bullinger and Daniel Wolf, managing director of the investor AIF Management. “The excitement is rising slowly, both among the residents and the staff,” says Schulz. “Now that the shell is completely finished, we can already imagine very well what our new nursing home will look like.” For the new building, the AIF Capital Group, which specializes among other areas in social facilities, is investing around 15 million euros in the first construction phase.
Especially protected area for dementia patients
Ten of the total of 100 modern single rooms in the new building are located in a specially protected area with a garden. This will be specially designed to meet the needs of people suffering from dementia. In addition to the residents’ rooms, the new building holds 17 service rooms and 53 functional rooms. “When planning the new building, we made sure to meet all the requirements of the people living and working here,” Wolf explains. “For the nursing staff, for example, this means shorter distances, which gives them more time for the residents.” The operator DOREA, one of the largest private operators in the care sector in Germany, also participated in planning. In addition to the Rottaler nursing home, DOREA also runs facilities in Murrhardt and Sulzbach.
After the move to the new building, the building currently still in use will be completely demolished. To replace it, the AIF Capital Group plans to erect a building complex for assisted living. Those attending the meeting are pleased with the investment in Oberrot: “The care facility has now been operating in the community for over 30 years. It is important that it remains as such. In this way, the supply of nursing places close to home is maintained. In addition, local jobs are secured. The planned construction of the assisted living facility will create additional ones.” First up, however, is the move in the fall of 2022.
